While your speaking business is still your business, we’ll do our best to create win-win opportunities for you.

Our team is actively outreaching every single day on your behalf. This includes direct outreach to event planners, event hosts, HR directors, schools, colleges, corporations, churches, and organizations that regularly hire speakers.
When we identify a real opportunity and confirm all the details up front, including the date, time, location, audience, expectations, and most importantly the budget, we then match that opportunity to the best fit speakers inside Salem Speakers.
At that point, we reach out to you with the full opportunity breakdown and ask if you would like us to put you forward for consideration. Nothing moves forward without your approval.
From there, we typically introduce the event host to the top 3 speakers who are the best fit for that specific opportunity. This allows you to connect directly, usually via Zoom, and close the engagement yourself with our support if needed.
How do fees work?
Every gig is handled individually and transparently.
Our bureau fee can range anywhere from 0% up to 20%, depending on the structure of the event.
For example:
• If a gig has a $1,500 budget and requires you to cover your own travel, we often take 0%
• If a gig has a $10,000 budget and the event covers travel, we may take our standard 10% bureau fee
• Some opportunities fall in between, and we always disclose the exact terms before moving forward
You will always know the budget, expectations, travel requirements, and our fee before agreeing to be introduced.
Our goal is simple. Create real opportunities, remove the guesswork, and help speakers move from interest to booked engagements in a way that is fair, honest, and aligned for everyone involved.
Your listing is permanent. Even if you cancel your subscription, your speaker profile will remain on the Salem Speaker Bureau website forever, unless you ask us to remove it. This gives event organizers ongoing access to discover you long term.
You can join with or without experience. While it is not required, having experience does help us win together. Once you join, make a commitment to find a few free local speaking opportunities so you can build confidence, gain experience, and collect quality footage of you speaking. It is also a great idea to join a speaking group such as Toastmasters to continue sharpening your skills and growing as a communicator.
